NTAG 213, NTAG215 and NTAG216 NFC Tags

NTAG213, NTAG215 and NTAG216 are developed by NXP Semiconductors and are used as standard NFC tags to cooperate with NFC devices or NFC-compatible close-coupled devices, and are widely used in market applications such as retail, gaming and consumer electronics. NTAG213, NTAG215 and NTAG216 (hereinafter referred to as NTAG21x) are designed to fully comply with NFC Forum Type 2 tags and ISO/IEC14443 Type A specifications.

 

Non-contact energy and data transmission

NTAG21x communication can only be established when the IC is connected to the antenna.

When NTAG21x is in the RF range, the high-speed RF communication interface allows data transmission at a baud rate of 106 kb/s.

 

Easy to deploy and convenient for users

NTAG21x provides special functions designed to improve integration and user convenience.

The fast read capability allows only one FAST_READ command to scan the complete NDEF message, thereby reducing overhead in a high-throughput mass production environment.

Improved RF performance allows more flexibility in choosing shapes, sizes and materials.

Selecting ICs with a thickness of 75 μm can produce ultra-thin labels for easier integration, such as magazines or game cards.

Each device has a 7-byte UID number programmed by the manufacturer

Original signature based on ECC

32-bit password protection function prevents unauthorized memory operations


Compliant with NFC Forum Tag Type 2

NTAG21x ICs are fully compliant with NFC Forum Tag Type 2 technical specifications and provide NDEF data structure configuration.


Anti-interference

The intelligent anti-interference function allows multiple tags to work in the field at the same time. The anti-interference algorithm selects each tag separately and ensures that the selected tag executes the transaction correctly, and will not be interfered by the presence of another tag on site.

Target applications include smart advertising in outdoor and print media, SoLoMo applications, product verification, NFC shelf tags, and mobile phone matching tags.

Target use cases include outdoor smart advertising, product certification, mobile phone matching labels, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi pairing, electronic shelf labels and business cards. NTAG21x memory can also be segmented to deploy multiple applications at the same time.


Because the NTAG21x tag IC has high input capacitance, this product is particularly suitable for applications that require a small size without degrading performance. Small NFC tags can be more easily embedded in targets such as product tags or electronic devices.


The mechanical and electrical characteristics of NTAG21x can meet the requirements of inlay and label manufacturers.
